AN INTRODUCTION

Hey, everyone! 

The last time I had a blog was about ten years ago...so please bare with me while I get back into the swing of things!

My name is M.C Smothers and I'm a full time spicy romance author and stay at home mom. I started my writing journey in middle school when I was obsessed with... can you guess? Vampires! I'll never forget my (truly horrible) first short story about a vampire kidnapping this woman to protect her from this other vampire... God, I can't believe I let MY GRANDMOTHER read that story. I'm still humiliated thinking about it.

As embarrassing as that may be, it was what jumped started my dream of being a published author. A dream I have worked hard at for many years. 

My second jump into writing was all about fanfiction; spicy Potterotica to be exact. My first fanfiction reached over 400K reads on Wattpad and that pushed me even further with my ambitions. Soon I was no longer just writing fanfics, but my own novels!

My first novel, TOXIC INTRIGUE, was originally published under a different title and different author name on Wattpad and reached over 200K reads. 

It was then that I thought maybe my dream wasn't that far fetched and I actually COULD write and publish my own novel. At this point, the self publishing world was introduced to me.

I created a BookTok account, followed so many Indie Authors, and finally I was on my way. A year later, TOXIC INTRIGUE was polished and ready for publication! I dove right into it; connected with an editor, reached out to ARC Readers, all while raising my first child and being pregnant with my second.

And now I have two books published! And two more coming out in 2025! 

It's been a wild ride for many years, but here I am! And I'm honestly really excited to start this blog. It's been so dang long. I hope it goes well...or at least someone reads it occasionally.
